Dog Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

In today's blog i have a complete melt down because i talk about my first baby (doggie) turning 6. Actually turned 6 already.
-At this time i can not sync my phone to my computer that i use to blog.. So all of my pitbulls birthday pitcures/videos will be on my Instagram (amandaleighleigh)

This past monday (9th) My pitbull turned 6. It was a milestone for me because let's face it it's always about the doggie mommy :P. No seriously.. My pitbull turned 6. I have been preparing myself for this moment for about 2 months now.

I had a complete melt down back in march. I mean one day i just started bawling my eyes out because my first baby (dog) is turning 6. Now i'll be honest it may had to do with some person talking crap. I'll do a blog about that later. Anyway i was an emotional wreck leading up to Monday. There were some days where i didn't even think of it and then i would look at my pitbull and think WOW you will be 6 soon.

The week leading up to his birthday.. I was thinking how i was going to make his birthday one of the best yet. I know he's a dog and he really doesn't know it's his birthday. But i know it's his birthday so i wanted to make sure his day was perfect.

About a month ago i started looking online for a cake recipe that is vegan. About 3 months ago i officially made my dogs vegan. Again i'll do a blog about it. So this cake had to be a vegan cake. Last year my beabull's cake was vegan. But my pitbull didn't have a vegan cake because he got a Happy Birthday bone from my local pet store.

If you own a pitbull then you know pitbulls could be picky when it comes to certain foods. They can kinda be snobs (in a good way.) So i had to do a great job. I found this recipe from this Instagram account called Bulldogstuff. I ended up changing a few things around to meet my pitbull needs but the cake and frosting itself was still 100% vegan.

The morning of his birthday i woke him up and started singing Happy Birthday. I don't know about your dogs but my dogs are like me they aren't morning doggies at all and if it was invented then they would need a big bowl full of doggie coffee. Once he got up i took them out and we ran around the yard. Normally we would play morning fetch but i couldn't find his ball so we ran around the yard instead.

After that i took them inside and i headed to my grocery store to get the items i needed to make his birthday cake. The first grocery store i went to didn't have anything i needed to make the cake so i ended up getting candles. I headed to another grocery store and there they had everything i needed to make his cake.

I won't put the recipe here i'll do another blog with the recipe. Once i got back we took him for his birthday walk. Did i mention i got pawty hats? Well i made him wear his big red bow tie and his pawty hat. And everyone that went on the walk had to wear a pawty hat. Once we were done walking or should i say once i ran out of poop bags we headed home.

Once we got home i started to make him his dinner. My doggie requested carrots, chick peas (his fav) and vegan ground beef (becareful with feeding your dog vegan ground beef because most of it contains onion powder and we know onions are bad for our doggies.) While that was cooking i got his cake all ready to put in the oven. Now by the point my pitbull was laying in the kitchen staring at me.

Every time i stirred his dinner he would look at me like is dinner ready yet? Or is my cake ready yet? Once his dinner was ready i added to the V-Dog food (V-dog is a 100% vegan dog food company. It's even run by vegans.) I fed all 3 doggies and i put his cake in the oven. At this point i can't even count how many times i sang him Happy Birthday and how many times i would grab his face and give him birthday kisses.

He even started to turn his head away from me. The night before his birthday i forced him to cuddle with me. Anyway once the cake was in the oven i took him outside to play with him and it started raining so we came back inside and he followed me to the kitchen and he finished his dinner.

His cake took.. Well the recipe called for 50 minutes in the oven but it was probably done around the 40 minute mark. It was brown a little darker than gloden but not burnt. I had to let that cool so we ran around the house acting like goofballs. Once the cake was cooled i made the icing per the recipe i found well i did change a thing or 2. So there is a dog in this house that is greedy so i put up the baby gate so she couldn't get into the kitchen.

I frosted the cake. put the candles on the cake my sister lit the cake my mom turned off the lights and we started singing Happy Birthday. In that moment i kinda started to get choked up because my first born (dog) is now 6. Once the song was over my mom turned on the lights and it was time for the Birthday boy to get the first slice of cake.

He didn't know how to react. All i know is the smaller doggie (the greedy one) took the first slice of cake. I felt so bad that the Birthday Boy didn't get the first slice. Like i felt like a heartbroken mom. Once he sniffed the cake he tore it up. All 3 doggies love the cake (Thank You Bulldogstuff.)

The next day Tuesday i did the responsible dog mom thing and instead of feeding the doggies morning breakfast i decided to let them eat cake! It's not very often that they have cake for breakfast. Actually this is the very first time that i gave them cake for breakfast. Because last year for my beabulls birthday i made 6 Pup cakes so each dog could have 2 and i gave the extra ones the next day after dinner.

They all of course ate it and loved it! Right now i am a little sadden that my big head is now 6. And i'm sure when it's my beabull's birthday (August) i will feel the same way i feel now. I'm Happy that he even saw 6. My big head was a rescue of sorts. And if i didn't take him well.. I'm sure he wouldn't be here today. He's taught me so much about Love, compassion and what it means to truly to take care of another living being besides myself. Everyday i strive to be a better me so i can be a better doggie mommy to my dogs.

I'm not going to get all emotional. You can read what i wrote for his birthday on my Instagram i added my name up at the top. And to finish off this blog. I never thought in a million years that i would have a Pitbull. I never judge them because all dogs are raised differently but when i was looking to get a dog i wanted an English Bulldog and this 6 pound puppy with a big head he couldn't even hold up came into my life.

He actually came into my life during a time that probably wasn't the best. And as he grew up so did i. His life wasn't always easy but i made it the best i could and with LOTS of help me and the doggies made it through. Everyday the doggies are teaching me different life lessons that i probably wouldn't even thought of if it weren't for them. I hope to enjoy many, many more years with them. Now i'm all emotional.

Okay so i hope you enjoyed this blog? At the top i added my Instagram name so you can check out the Birthday Pictures/Photos of my big headed baby special day.

Until next time Peace,Love & Lots of Love
