Why not to use plastic for Dogs

Plastic has become part of our everyday lives. The pen i used to write down what i was going to type for this blog is plastic. We all know plastic is bad for us humans. BPA this, Chemicals that, Oh no toxins.. You get the point. If us "Eco Friendly" humans try to stay away from plastic then why don't we do the same for our dogs?

Imagine if plastic can kill us then imagine what it does to our animals.

Like i said everywhere we look plastic is everywhere. The food we eat, the plates we use to the cups we drink out of.

It hasn't totally  been proven that BPA chemicals may be present in your dog. BPA has been found in human bodies then chances are those same chemicals that are in our bodies are in our pets bodies.

There are i think about 7-10 different chemicals and each react differently depending on the temperature that they are put under. The hotter your food in a plastic container the higher chemicals will be released in the food you are about to eat.

So the food you just heated up for yourself has chemicals in it already from it being processed (??) to the chemicals that just been released due to the heat.. Now your pet wants some what you are eating... More so than not you share what you are eating (who can ressite those eyes?) You are now feeding your pet 1,000's if not millions of different chemicals.

Our pets bodies aren't designed to take those kind of chemicals. Originally their bodies were designed for the wild life. There aren't any plastic in the wild. So lets try and keep it that way for them now.

I mentioned in my (not all dog bowls are created equal) blog i mentioned something called "Plastic Dish Dermatitis" It's a skin irritation that's itchy and can cause pain.

I use to keep my dog food in a plastic container that i got from Walmart.. Now i keep the dog food in the same bag that it comes it. And it helps that the bag says its BPA free and all that fun stuff. IF you absolutely have to keep your dog food in a plastic container make sure it says BPA/ Chemical free. Because just because it's "designed" to hold dog food doesn't mean it does it safely.

For me i stay away from anything plastic when it comes to my dogs. You can call me a crazy, over protective dog mom. But i make sure when it comes to their health and safety i do everything in my power to protect that.

I hope you enjoyed today's blog.
And until next time Peace, Love & Lots of Love
