Dog Bowls.. Not all are created equal

I decided to do Pros and Cons of a few different style of dog bowls. When i look for dog bowls i like to do research.. For me i basically research EVERYTHING when it comes to spending money on my dogs.. It's not like i don't like spending money on dogs because believe me if you know me then you know there is no amount of money i wouldn't spend on them.

I want to make sure that i give them the best.. The best quality, the best product, the best treats, the best food, just the best everything.  In today's blog i give you my opinion on dog bowls. I'm sharing with you the knowledge I've learned over the years. And a lot of this is common sense. But non the less here is today's blog.

Let's just get one of the worse bowls out of the way first

1.) Plastic Bowls: Obviously these are one of the worst bowls you could give to your pet.  If your dog is a chewer then the scratches or the chew marks about become infested with bacteria that could pose a danger to your pet. Because bacteria could grow in the scratch or chew marks.
And if your dog is a chewer you don't want your pet swallowing a piece of plastic.. that piece could get stuck in the throat, stomach or intestines.
 - BPA'S & Other very harmful chemicals have been found in plastic. Like plastic bottles, water bottles, plastic containers or even soda bottles.
 - The chemicals that have been found in plastic also have been linked to a nasal dermatitis it's called Plastic Dish Nasal Dermatitis. It's a form of depigmentation on or around the nose and mouth.. Due to a chemical p-benzylhy droquinone.. which inhibits the production of melanin. Melanin creates dark pigments in the body so it looks like blotchy skin and can become raw and uncomfortable.
-If you still want to go the plastic route. PLEASE look for a chemical free plastic. Here is a link that is ECO friendly and reasonably priced.. https://www.chewy.com/dp/102652?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hg&utm_content=Van%20Ness&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KEQjwrte4BRD-oYi3y5_AhZ4BEiQAzIFxnwOBXJRiwDA8KGPawJwLE_mZreCsRWXN_sPOmvAFaEsaAvyC8P8HAQ

2.) Stainless Steel: It's one of the choices in this house.. Steel is not a material which bacteria can grow if kept clean daily. If you're like me and may have a dropping problem then stainless steel is the way to go.
 - This may sound funny but it's actually true..And common sense.. If you keep the stainless bowl in the heat in one spot for hours upon hours in the hot boiling sun it can catch or start a fire.
- The downside to giving your (boy) pet a stainless steel bowl is fashion. There aren't many choices out there for boy pets. My dog has a stainless steel bowl with some plastic spikes.. It's doing it's job for now until i find another one that i like.

3.) Ceramic: It's harder to clean than glass or stainless steel
- Make sure the glaze is food-based.. not lead based.. which you guess it.. it's contains chemicals that are way toxic.
- If  the bowl has crack or chips in it throw it away because you don't want your pet eating it and the cracks or chips could cause bacteria to grow. So just throw it away.

                         The Fourth and Final one

4.) Glass: Glass won't be a breeding ground for bacteria or chemicals if kept clean daily.
-VERY EASY TO CLEAN
-If it breaks/chips just throw it away and make sure you swept all the glass up
-This one is common sense.. Don't leave it in the blazing hot sun because the glass bowl could explode/shatter and you don't want your pet stepping on any glass..

I hope you enjoyed my dog bowl blog. Like always if you are unsure about what to get for your pet just do research until you find something that you are comfortable getting.. Remember you don't want to give your pet something that you are uncomfortable buying for yourself.

Until next time.. Peace, Love & Lots of Love
