Superfood Vegan rice crispy treats

                                    Superfood vegan rice crispy treats

Recently I've been craving rice crispy treats. Since becoming more vegan I haven’t had a rice crispy treats. My. I’m use to make really really tasty rice crispy treats.. I mean like mouth watering good.. So I knew the only way I’ll be able to enjoy the sweetness that is rice crispy treats is if I came up with a rice crispy treat recipe that is sweet and good.
First thing I needed to do was figure out what kind I wanted to make. After some thinking I finally decided on a superfood, super health and super delicious recipe. The next step was that I needed to decide what ingredients I wanted to put in it.
I wanted to add the best ingredients I could find in stores. One of the brands I LOVE is navitas naturals. I went to target and there I found some of their products that I thought I could only find in a whole foods type store for tons of $$$$
Like I said I found them at target and the products were decent in price. So I decided to pick up navitas naturals: cacao nibs, mulberry berries and goji powder. I spent a total of $21.97 which is kinda pricey but at the same time I saved myself like $15 by not going to whole foods. Oh and I got a box of rice crispy treats for $3.99.
Since my recipe is vegan I needed to find substitute for the marshmallows.. I know they sell dandies marshmallows but they aren’t in the stores around me so I had to come up with another way to bind the ingredients together.
So here is my recipe for my take on my vegan superfood rice crispy treats
Ingredients: 3 cups rice crispy treats cereal ( you can use more more or less depending on how much you want to make)
1/3 cup Manitoba raw shelled hemp seeds ( I got mine from shop rite for $5.99)
3-5 tablespoons chia seeds ( I get mine from trader joes $ 4.99)
1/3 cup organic Hey Shuga cane sugar syrup ( I got this from shop rite for $6.99)
3 decent tablespoons of cacao nibs
1/2 cup mulberry mulberries
2 tablespoons goji powder
1/3 cup cashew butter
Directions: line a 9x9 size pan with parchment paper( you can use a bigger pan if you’re making a bigger batch)
In a bowl mix together cereal, chia seeds, mulberry berries, hemp seeds and goji powder. In a sauce pan, mix together the cashew butter and maple syrup until mixed together. Pour the contents from the saucepan into the bowl and mix
until well blended.. Spread in the pan and refrigerate until firm (about 1 hour) you could always add the cacao nibs to the saucepan and make it chocolate or you can sprinkle the nibs over the rice crispy treats..
And there you have it a vegan superfood rice crispy treat.
Now let’s eat some treats enjoy!
